Benny eventually ruled radio on Sunday nights and when he finally decided to tackle television in 1950, he shared Sunday nights on CBS with Sullivan, who’s Toast of the Town program eventually became The Ed Sullivan Show – for twenty-three years, television’s most successful variety show.
