Harry Bertoia [Italian-born American, 1915–1978], Diamond chair (1952, a fluid sculptural form made from a hand-welded latticework of steel). Bertola created the Diamond chair as part of his furniture collection for Knoll⁠—a collection recognized as a notable achievement in mid-century modern furniture design, although it was the only furniture Bertoia ever created.
