We had such a fun time taking part in the workshop, making our very own Islander Harris Tweed Satchel and wash bag. My favourite part was picking all of the components of my bag, although this was so difficult as there is so many beautiful tweed patterns to choose from. I settled on a black body, and pink tweed lid and have been wearing it ever since! What colour would you have picked? This is such a fun and unique activity to do when visiting Edinburgh, or even as a local. The workshop is the perfect place to hide on a rainy day, we highly recommend visiting @islanderukltd. Hammerstitch | Christine Dans on Instagram: "It’s time to sew! I officially started my Alice purse today, and I got a bit ahead of myself and finished the exterior of the bag. I’m using Harris Tweed for my purse, and I’ve decided to make a couple of modifications to the pattern to adapt it to my fabric. I was afraid that making the reinforced bottom as it is written in the pattern would be really bulky, so I decided to use a different method. I recently made the Passionflower bag by Blue Calla, and this is how the bottom is constructed in that pattern. That’s one of the reasons I love trying new patterns, not just to make different bags, but to learn different ways of sewing them! I hope everyone has a lovely weekend working on their Alice bags!
