I made this card for a customer's card class I held yesterday. It is a gate fold card. I love different types of card styles and this one is super easy for such a lovely appearance. The folded card measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". Start with a piece that measures, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". Then score along the 8 1/2" @ 2 1/8" on each end of the of 8 1/2" length. Stampin' Dolce: Fun Fold Card - GDP022

Today's project is another crossover gate fold card featuring products from the Blackberry Beauty product suite! The Blackberry Beauty Designer Series Paper really takes the spotlight on this card, so I added a small sentiment, embossed in gold and die-cut from the Frightful Tags dies. I die-cut a second frightful tag in Brushed Metallic cardstock and adhered it perpendicular to the vertical sentiment piece. They layer perfectly together!

This is a slight variation on the traditional gate fold card, which generally has two folds and side flaps that open out from the centre of the card. I have included a basic pattern at the end of the post so you can have a go at creating something similar. Play around with the measurements of the card as well as the shape of the side and top flaps. You'd be surprised how many different variations you can come up with!

Creating a gate fold card using an intricate die to form the shape of the card can be difficult and a little rough on your die-cutting machine. However, if you are willing to take the risk, you can create a beautiful gate fold card.
