Los Angeles-based artist Alex Prager (born 1979) creates highly staged, cinematic images inspired by street photography, classic Hollywood and experimental films. Published for an exhibition at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Face in the Crowd features portraits of large crowds at airport terminals, beaches, movie theaters and other public spaces. As ever there's a strong undertone of voyeurism to her images, with her style still characterised by loaded cinematic poses and hectic multitudes of people crammed into small places.
