Clay swan

I’ve always admired the way some polymer artists are able to cover animals. You can see some of them, and other project tutorials of mine on this pinboard. I honestly don’t know how so…

trimmed off some excess around the edges of necks, but now need to do a ton of refining. I have noticeable creases on the lower body and head of the female swan (one on the right), where I had placed clay into the mold.

This cake topper was made with polymer clay. Perfect for a wedding cake or Valentine's Day cake! It's important to frost some kind of paper or plastic to the bottom before putting it on the cake since polymer clay isn't food safe. I've never used fondant before, but the shapes for the swans would be the same. I post these tutorials to my facebook page every week. Refined Polymer model. Added more dimension to the feathers and thinned out and elongated the necks of the swans. Also redid the eyes/beaks. Now to mold?
