I missed Brit Pop in the 90s, but through my son’s interest in Blur, Gorillaz, and Damon Albarn in general, well... I'm obsessed with this song. When the bass flats the 5th where you expect the traditional bouncy 5th, oy! Kills me. The bari sax, the slang (some incomprehensible) and the way the verse-guy (who was in Quadrophenia, I'm told) swallows "t’s"—and the harmony! That half-step 2-note on the word "their" in the chorus?
