The Spartan War Hero Set was a set of armor created by the ancient Greek city-state of Sparta. During the Peloponnesian War, the armor set was in the possession of the members of the branch of the Cult of Kosmos which had infiltrated the Peloponnesian League. The Spartan misthios Kassandra hunted down the cultists and claimed each armor piece for herself. I went all out on this one. After looking at the concept, I imagined an armor that captured the pure grace that's associated with the mythical Pegasus. For this set, I used Substance Designer and Photoshop to create custom height maps for the bas-relief elements found all over the armor, which were derived from photographs of actual Greek relief works. These were then fed back into Designer and plotted into the areas I wanted, allowing me to get exactly the look I desired while staying…
