2 of 4: Detail: Liza Lou's first major work, “Kitchen”. It took the artist five years to cover every inch of a normal kitchen with glass beads, including the water in the sink and the dirty dishes. Liza Lou‘s art looks amazing, but it came with a high price. She was diagnosed with acute tendinitis while she was working on “Kitchen”, as she applied every glass bead individually, using tweezers. She received from The MacArthur Foundation, in 2002.
