Germany’s Steffi Graf is the only tennis player to ever win a Golden Slam by capturing an Olympic gold medal in the same year as triumphs in the sport’s traditional Grand Slam events: the Australian, French, and US Opens, plus Wimbledon. She did this in 1988, the year tennis returned to the Olympic program after a 64-year absence.
