Seeking an Unspoiled Belize Paradise? Visit Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary

If you find Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary (in the north)... Crooked Tree was the village I went to in 2005. I love the colors of this map

Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary in Belize District, Belize...The Mayas lived in Crooked Tree several thousand years ago as is evidenced by the Chau Hiix Archaeological Site at the southwestern corner of Western Lagoon. The site has a central pyramid that rises almost 75 feet above the flat lagoon landscape. It is one of the last known untouched and unlooted Maya sites, because local residents had kept it secret and protected the site for generations.
