Samuel Adams was the prosecuting lawyer of the 8 British soldiers accused in The Boston Massacre Adams wanted the soldiers to have a fair trial, to show that Boston was not controlled by a lawless mob He convinced his cousins future president John Adams and Josiah Quincy to defend the soldiers, knowing that those Whigs would not slander Boston to gain an acquittal. Condeming the outcome he felt the soldiers should have been convicted of murder.
