The Bank of England - replaced the original Soane building, whose removal was described as the 'greatest architectural crime in the City's history. The 'Old Lady of Threadneedle St.' (the bank's nickname) refers to Sarah Whitehead, sister of an executed employee who continues to haunt the building. The museum is free to enter, where you can pick up a bar of gold bullion - probably among the last in the building. Hoho! EC2 - Bank Tube station.
This is the town of Grasmere in the Lake District of England. it is such a wonderful little town, and has, among other things, a very famous gingerbread bakery that is so small, no more than 6 people can be in there at a time!
