Behind the Candelabra (US, 2013 / French title: Ma vie avec Liberace) A sad story of the flamboyant pianist Liberace's affair with a 16-year-old boy shows the neurotic obsessive neediness which both attracted them and drove them apart. Michael Douglas is excellent as Liberace but at age 40, Matt Damon is miscast as the young lover. Fascinating but disturbing. 3 stars.
Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron is an animation from Dreamworks, a story about a horse. Well, it's cute and all that but it's certainly not in the caliber of Shrek or other hits from Dreamworks. The storyline lacked depth and as good as Matt Damon may be, riding on his name along doesn't produce a hit. May be worth watching with kids who like westerns.
