BLack Obsidian base is framed top and bottom with 18 karat yellow gold wire ( 2.1 mm thick). On top of base is a lion with ruby eyes carved from nephrite jade. At each corner of the base is a pole containing two diamonds. The base of the pole is lapis, the shaft is 18 karat yellow gold, and the finial is a pear shaped ruby bead glued into a four prong setting. Signet-ring. Cornelian scarab set in gold mount stepped in profile and decorated with twisted wire, collars at each end; on a heavy silver swivel, round in section. The scarab is simple, with angular elytra and marked 'ridge' carination. Device; lion attacking a stag, leaping onto it from behind and biting its back. Hatched border. Quartz var. chalcedony; silver corroded.
