Her primary symbol was a downward-pointing Triangle, the Yoni Yantra, sometimes called Kali Yantra. This represented a Vulva (Sanskrit yoni), and femaleness in general: by extension, a womb, motherhood, female sexuality, the Life Spirit embodied in menstrual blood, or the world-activating power of the Goddess herself.
