William Pit the Younger. Born Hayes, Kent. Son of William Pitt the Elder, Earl of Chatham, MP. Tory. Entered parliament in 1781, became Chancellor of the Exchequer and then, aged 24, Prime Minister: 1783-1801 and again: 1804-6. Reputed to drink more than three bottles of port a day. Died Putney Heath, London. Buried Westminster Abbey.
