Hydrangea paniculata selections include Limelight (shown), Phantom, Quick Fire, Little Lime, Vanilla Strawberry, ect. All can be pruned with this method. Pruning should be done before you start seeing leaves on the plant. Pruning is simple. Once a year, late winter or early spring – remove about 1/3 of the tips of each branch into the body of the plant. Best to prune the overall form into a somewhat rounded form, not a flat topped plant. Hurry, it is time to prune!
