1924 also saw the birth of the winter olympics. Held in Chamonix, France. 16 nations participated with 258 athletes. Events were the bobsleigh, curling, ice hockey, figure skating, speed skating, nordic skiing, military patrol skiing, cross-country skiing, nordic combined, and ski jumping.
