Dont throw out your kitchen scraps! Regrow them. Romaine lettuce is simple to grow. Cut the heart down so that about an inch is left. Place it in a shallow dish with about an inch of water. After a few days' worth of growth, peel back and remove the old lettuce to let the new growth expand in the dish
