Celtic helmet, 3rd century BCE - discovered in Ciumesti, Romania. An Iron Age cemetery with 34 graves, one belonging to a rich Celtic chieftain. Among the objects was a rather odd helmet - consisting of a large bird of prey perched on top, with its bronze wings spread out for all to see. What’s really cool about this helmet is that the wings were also hinged, which meant that they could flap up and down.
