Ghoulish ghosts will be haunting Alresford town centre from Saturday 22 to 29 October as part of the annual Alresford Ghost Hunt. Alresford (/ˈɒlsfərd/ or /ˈeɪlsfərd/) is a village and electoral ward in Essex, England. It is located 9 km (5.6 mi) southeast of Colchester and is 39 km (24 mi) northeast from the county town of Chelmsford. The village is in the district of Tendring and in the parliamentary constituency of North Essex. As Alresford has expanded towards the B1027 it has effectively subsumed the hamlet of Elmstead Row.
