Medieval supportive underwear- This is awesome! I was hoping for some analyses of the "bra" found in Austria! This has some artwork that clearly depicts the "lift and separate" that bras do, versus a corset/bodies. Does this mean that there were bras and then people moved to corsets/bodies and the back to bras? That's a funny concept!

Making of a medieval brick stitch purse

Making-of a replica after a reliquary pouch from the St. Vincent's Church in Soignies, Belgium. Although it measures only 7x7 centimeters, the bag features lots of tiny details: handstitched edge decorations, fingerlooped drawstrings and hand-wrapped silk gimp for the Turk's Head Knot decoration of the tassel heads. A whole lot of work went into it.
