Hans Baluschek (1870-1936)

Hans Baluschek was a German painter, graphic artist and writer. Baluschek was a prominent representative of German Critical Realism, and as such he sought to portray the life of the common people with vivid frankness. I am in awe of his ability to capture the daylight and artificial light of Berlin (my longtime home) and of his mysterious uses of it in depicting so many, diverse scenes.
