actually, I'm almost sure Tauriel means "bang a hobbit and you get to be a token female" in elvish. but I can't back that up with paperwork. MY OPINION: I could not stomach the whole storyline/deviation/arwen clone/FotR regurgitation (right down to the kingsfoil) of the elf/dwarf love triangle. I have not objected to a single addition to the story before this because they served the story well. this made me roll my eyes. a lot.
