A selection of versatile textiles that highlight the interplay of coloured threads and geometric patterns, coordinated by colour mood. "I was inspired by the Toile de Jouy designs with their rural, mythological and exotic scenes from the pictorial world of animals so beautifully represented in so many examples of these historic textile designs. My idea was to show another kind of reality, the world of fantastic animals. "Starting with word games and associations of animal names in compound names, I took out my drawing pad and began to sketch out my nominal compositions before putting them to work. Thus, were born my fantastical beasts to create my "Réalité irréelle". This drawing is a tribute to all the animals that have disappeared or are on the brink of extinction, victims of the destruction of their biotopes caused mainly by man."
