Eva Joly: b. 1943; Eva Joly is a Norwegian-born French magistrate and politician. She is known for her crusade against corruption, in particular taking on former minister Bernard Tapie and the bank Crédit Lyonnais. Her most famous case was that of oil company, Elf Aquitaine. In the face of death threats, she uncovered cases of fraud, leading to convictions of those involved in the business. In 2001, she received the award for integrity from Transparency International.
