An inside look at street skating: Photographer Mike Belleme has been skateboarding since he was 12 years old. When he was in high school, he says, he didn’t care about girls or partying. All he wanted to do was skate. It’s one of the reasons he got into photography. With dreams of going pro, he and his friends needed to shoot pictures of each other pulling off impressive tricks.
Tony Hawk old school. Owned that deck
Man, growing up in a small coastal town made for very few spots. We had a 3 stair we could only skate when the old woman who lived there wasn’t home. We had a ledge at the primary school that we could only skate after 5 when the cleaners left, and a slab of concrete that had a small gap in it and a downward facing driveway that was kind of like a bank… kinda. I still blame my parents choice to settle down for the reason I never went pro. Like P-Rod. http://kidsonstoke.com/?p=1031
